THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT

The Funeral Portrait, 1867 Bar, Lincoln, NE. 10/20/24.

This Atlanta-based band has been taking fans and the rock charts by storm recently. They are fresh from a tour with Five Finger Death Punch, Marilyn Manson, and Slaughter to Prevail, where they amassed new fans in every city they played. Many in

the crowd Sunday night were seeing them for the first time and were bursting with excitement. There were also many repeat

concertgoers in the crowd coming back for more. With such a commanding and engaging stage presence, it’s easy to see why rock

fans can’t get enough of The Funeral Portrait.

Lead vocalist Lee Jenning’s voice was like a finely tuned instrument and was in prime condition for the show. The band is so

high-energy and fun to watch. This venue was such a stark contrast to the CHI Center in Omaha where I first saw these guys play.

The small, intimate stage made for any fan’s dream show. I would highly encourage you to catch The Funeral Portrait at a

venue near you. You’ll want to see them up close and personal while you can!

Taking the stage before The Funeral Portrait was Florida-based Not Enough Space. This band had many fans who were there just to

see them, and it was immediately clear why. I’d never heard them yet, but I was drawn in right away. The set sounded incredible

even while the band dealt with some technical difficulties. It was a killer show, and the crowd was ready to party with Not Enough

Space as long as possible. Lincoln can’t wait to see these guys again, hopefully very soon!

Local Lincoln band Till Hell played a set to get the crowd geared up for the rest of the night. This hard rock band brought a more old

school sound to the show that was very well received. Great lyrics mixed with strong musical talent made this a standout set,

and I’m so glad I got to see a local band on the bill. Starting the night on Sunday was Omaha-based band Escaping the Eclipse. They

describe their sound as modern melodic metalcore. This set was made to mosh to and had fans moving right off the bat. I was so

impressed with their sound and had a great time watching them. Front and center for their set was 6-year-old super fan Ellie.

Escaping the Eclipse put on a sick show, and it was one fans won’t soon forget.
