25 Years of Noise Tour
Silverstein brought their 25 Years of Noise Tour to The Fillmore in Charlotte, NC this past Sunday, bringing along Thursday for the ride. The post-hardcore legends, with eleven full length albums under their belt and 25 years of constant touring, may just be one of the hardest-working bands out there. They’ve been a persistent force in the scene since their emergence in 2000, and the explosions of “My Heroine” and “Smile in Your Sleep.”
Next month, the first part of their double album, Antibloom, will be released, with Pink Moon following later this year. Of the forthcoming releases, the band shared in a recent press release, “In 2025 we will be celebrating 25 years as a band. For a milestone this large, we felt it deserved the largest campaign of our career. We felt incredibly inspired, and put everything we’ve learned / felt / experienced into this double-album. They say it takes an artist their whole life to write their debut album, but with starting this band so young, it felt like it took 25 years to write Antibloom / Pink Moon - the absolute collection of our musical style and ideas we’ve pioneered over these years.”
Silverstein’s set opened with a nostalgic video documenting the history of the band. It ended with, “THIS IS FOREVER” showing on the screens. The band members began rushing onstage as they leapt right into “Skin and Bones”.
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing, and photographing, Silverstein multiple times before, but their energy on this night was next-level. Vocalist Shane Told was on fire, and honestly put musicians half his age to shame. The energy between the band members was electric, and they were in perfect harmony together, as one would expect after 25 years. They performed a career-spanning set full of favorites sure to please any fan including, but not limited to: “Bad Habits”, “The Afterglow”, “Call it Karma”, and “Smile in Your Sleep”. And, of course, our favorite Canadians treated us to an epic encore, which included “My Heroine” (acoustic), “Smashed Into Pieces”, and “Bleeds No More”.
If you enjoy Silverstein music, do NOT sleep on their live shows, especially this 25-year anniversary tour. They’ve turned the volume up to 11 on this tour, and it is not to be missed!
