NIK GREELEY/PIGEONS PLAYING PING PONG

Nik Greeley/Pigeons Playing Ping Pong: Brooklyn Bowl, Philadelphia, PA. 12/15/23.

This show felt like a double headliner having Philly’s Nik Greeley + the Operators opening up the show. The show really started with a bang as right from the start Nik Greeley brought the energy in the building all the way up. You knew the band had a lot of fans in the crowd because right from the start of the set it was full in Brooklyn Bowl all the way to the back of the venue. After an unbelievable set he closed it out with a cover of Edgar Winter’s “Frankenstein” where he left the stage and came back in a Santa hat to say goodnight to the crowd. Pigeons came out to “Sail On” and everyone was already dancing from the start. The highlight of the set was when they played a 3 song cover of “Changes, Big Poppa, and In the End” which was a really cool mashup. Another highlight was when they brought Nik Greeley + the Operators back on set to play their hit song F.U. They left the stage for a short break and then played another set that was highlighted by another cover with Nik Greeley + Operators singing Kool & the Gang’s “Hollywood Swingin’”. After the set came to a close they came out to do one more and played “Skipjack” before leaving to a huge ovation. They left the crowd wanting more, luckily they were doing two nights so everyone could come back the next day.
