MEDIUM BUILD/RKS
Medium Build/RKS, The Mann, Philadelphia, PA. 9/14/24.
A Medium Build/RKS show is a can’t miss combo, so when I saw they were coming to Philadelphia I knew I had to be there. Medium Build started off the show and instantly engaged with the crowd, making lots of jokes throughout their whole set. The lead singer’s passion for the music that the band produces was obvious the way that he sang, with energy and emphasis on the lyrics, matching his facial expressions with the tone of the song. The music seemed like it could be healing and relatable for people who experience similar things as the band members when it comes to religion. He thanked the Philly crowd and then it was time for RKS. With last year’s show being canceled you could tell the fans were beyond excited to see them this time around. Melo came out with a big smile in the bright flashing lights in a flowy floral dress and did a spin for the crowd. They led off with hits right out of the gate with “Devil Like Me” and “Cocaine Jesus”. Even through a 24 song set the crowd sang along to every single song. After leaving the stage they came back out to play “Thanks For Coming” and then closed out with “It’s Called: Freefall”. Even after such a long set the Philly crowd wanted more. We can’t wait to have Medium Build/RKS back in Philly!
