LANGHORNE SLIM

Langhorne Slim at Concert Under the Stars, King of Prussia, PA. 5/19/23.

I got to see my first “Concert Under the Stars” which are local shows in King of Prussia PA at an outdoor venue that gets the local community involved. The opener for the show was Aliza Edens an acoustic artist based in Brooklyn. Right from the start of the set the whole venue was full and she went on to play some of her songs including “Jimmy Kimmel” as well as “Tom and Jerry”. She closed out her set with a cover of a Bobby Charles song and then thanked everyone for listening. When it was time to start the show Langhorne Slim made his way throughout the crowd thanking everyone for coming and saying hello to everyone. When he took the stage he told everyone to come up close and moved his microphone into the crowd. Early in his set he played “Changes” and everyone knew the lyrics and was singing along. He talked about how living in Strawberry mansion and let the crowd know he was about to be a new dad which got a big ovation from the crowd. Another crowd favorite was when he sang “Ocean City” and talked about his times going there as a kid and riding the rides at the boardwalk that seemed very unsafe looking back at them. When he sang “Panic Attack” he dedicated it to a fan who was a healthcare professional. He had the whole crowd sing along when he sang “You Are My Sunshine”. He closed out the show in a very cool way and had the crowd surround him and played “The Way We Move” and was jumping up and down with the crowd.
