KORN
Korn, Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, Camden, NJ. 9/20/24.
With Korn being my favorite band since I was 10, I had been counting down the days all year to see Korn at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion. Opening the show was Gojira who is one of the hottest bands in metal music since their incredible Olympics performance. They continued that same energy in New Jersey and had everyone on the edge of their seats. From the lighting to the blasts of pyrotechnics it was one of the best opening sets I’ve ever seen. When Korn came out everyone in the audience had their hands up in the air and was jumping up and down. They started off their set with “Here to Stay”, “Dead Bodies Everywhere”, “Got the Life”. When the iconic intro of “Blind” started the panels went above them and blasted white light down towards the band. The drop of “Blind” was a once in a lifetime moment you could see everyone waiting for it and when it finally hit everyone was jumping and shaking their hair. Another super cool moment in the show was when “Shoots and Ladders” started and singer Jonathan Davis came out playing bagpipes. At the end of the song they went into Metallica’s “One” which was a complete surprise to the crowd. After closing out their set with “Y’all Want a Single” they came back on for an encore playing 3 more songs and finished the night with their all time hit of “Freak On A Leash” which had every single person singing along even during Jonathan’s unique sounds from late in the song. What an incredible 30 years of Korn it’s been.
