FATHER JOHN MISTY
Father John Misty, The Fillmore, Philadelphia, PA. 2/28/25.
It was a packed crowd at The Fillmore on February 28th when Father John Misty took his Mashmashana tour to Philly. He played some notable tracks, like “She Cleans Up” and the eight-plus minute “I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All.” He also played songs off past albums, like his morbid love song “Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins)” in the encore.
His stage presence was huge. He was stumbling, fake-drunk fighting with no one as his band of almost ten people played behind him. His songs are long, and often pretty harrowing, but he never dropped in energy.
Canadian indie rock band Destroyer prepped the crowd. Dan Bejar fronts the band, formed in 1995 in Vancouver.
