CAROLINE ROSE
Caroline Rose, The Earl, Atlanta, GA. 3/11/25.
Caroline Rose made their highly anticipated return to Atlanta with a sold-out show at The Earl, marking their first performance here in over three years. The stage was minimalist — just Caroline’s Guitar Center amp and two pedalboards — putting the spotlight squarely on them and the single Telecaster they kept strapped on throughout the entire set. They kicked off the evening with "to be lonely" from their latest album year of the slug, which is exclusively available on Bandcamp.
The crowd was deeply engaged from start to finish, creating an intimate atmosphere that felt almost like we were in a listening room. Between songs, Caroline shared personal stories, often weaving them into the music, making each moment feel even more personal. As someone who's spent countless nights at The Earl, I can confidently say I've never witnessed a crowd of that size remain so attentive, especially during the more subdued tracks. When the tempo picked up, the crowd was fully energized, singing along to fan favorites like "Soul No. 5," "Bikini," "Cry!," and "Money." .
As the night came to a close, Caroline reflected on the emotional toll the pandemic took on small artists, with venues shuttered across the country or bought out by larger corporations. They shared how this tour was a tribute to independent venues that continue to fight for the music community. It was a heartfelt conclusion to an unforgettable evening, leaving everyone in the room with a deep sense of connection and gratitude.
