GOGOL BORDELLO

Gogol Bordello at Brooklyn Bowl.

Right before Gogol Bordello took the stage, I was a little confused why there weren’t any other photographers in the middle of the photo pit. But when the lead singer Eugene Hutz took the stage, tossed a wine bottle up in the air and immediately kicked down the mic stand, landing a foot away from my head, I got it. And he and the band carried the same energy throughout the rest of the evening. They played hit after hit, including “Start Wearing Purple”, “Wonderlust King”, and “Through the Roof’n Underground”. Towards the end of the night, Hutz even crowd surfed, waving a Ukrainian flag in the air.
