It’s not every day that you see Vince Herman (Leftover Salmon) on stage playing a rousing version of Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff”. Additionally it isn’t every day that you see the opening band and headlining band kissing each other on stage. But those kind of collaborative and spontaneous moments defined the spirit of the final leg of Andy Frasco’s “Days Like These” Tour.

Openers Little Stranger started out each evening with varied setlists that moved effortlessly between their catchy indie/hip hop hits “Red Rover” & “Girl III” and emotional acoustic tracks ‘I’m Fine” & “When Ur Mad”, the latter of which was often accompanied by Frasco’s guitarist (Shawn Eckels) and drummer (Andee Avila) on vocals.

Even though the crowd was already loose from Little Stranger’s sets, Andy Frasco held court within seconds of taking the stage. From the nightly Hora dance (which Frasco cheekily dedicated to Kanye West) to various band members jumping on top of his smoking piano to crowd surfing/beer chugging races-every night had something unique in store. And the collaborations didn’t stop as the members of Little Stranger would join Frasco’s band towards the end of each evening to perform their co-written single “Oh, What a Life”.

By the time the tour’s closing show at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville came around, you could tell the bromance was real. Both bands proclaimed their appreciation for each other, noting it was the best tour of their careers. With both acts beginning to announce an impressive list of ‘23 festival dates, it’s clear that the Frasco/Stranger circus is just getting started.
