COUCH/ST. PAUL + THE BROKEN BONES

Couch/St, Paul + The Broken Bones at Brooklyn Bowl.

You can’t beat a New Year’s Eve show in Philadelphia. The night opened with the amazing Boston founded band Couch. They set up the stage in a very cool way with rugs, lights going around the mic stand, and even had a Jeff Goldblum sequin pillow. As they started their first song the crowd was fully packed out and ready for music. With an incredible vocal range and backed by great instruments including a trumpet and saxophone everyone was loving what they were hearing. The highlight of their set was when they covered Kings of Leon’s “Sex Is On Fire” which the crowd knew all the lyrics to and was singing along with. They left the stage to a huge ovation and then everyone was super excited to see St. Paul + The Broken Bones. They came out with a ton of energy and got the crowd going when they played their hit “The Last Dance” which got everybody moving. Shortly after the singer came into the crowd and walked all along the VIP section and sang to a swarm of people recording on their phones. They kept that energy going throughout their whole show all the way to about 30 seconds from midnight when they brought out the Champagne and counted us down to the New Year. When the New Year hit the confetti cannons went off and after a cheers to the crowd and a quick chug of some Champagne they brought in 2023 with my personal favorite song of theirs “Apollo”. This show was an amazing way to start the year. Happy 2023 everyone!
