CAIOLA

As an early front runner for show of the year in 2023, there was no flashy set design or details needed it was just a night of tons and tons of talent. The opener was Teoa who played a very pleasant set and eventually came down into the crowd and played a song from inside the crowd. After their set everyone was super excited for Caiola to take the stage. Caiola is made up of Jordan Caiola and multiple of his band members from Mo Lowda & the Humble, as well as Philly legend Barney Cortez on the guitar. With frontman Jordan being seated the whole show because of his leg cast you could really just focus on the incredible vocals and instruments backing him. They played all of his hits including my personal favorite “Alaska” as well as “Hydroplane” and “Finder’s Keeper’s”. One of the highlights of the show was when he dedicated a Van Morrison song to his father and got the whole crowd misty eyed. Another highlight was when Jordan played an acoustic version of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire” and everyone was singing along with him. Being a local Philly band when the show was done everyone erupted in applause and was sad the show was over.
