ALT 104.5 WINTER JAWN
Alt 104.5 Winter Jawn: Xfinity Live, Philadelphia, PA. 2/10/24.
I’ve been going to Alt 104.5’s Winter Jawn for many years so I was excited to shoot my first one. The show boasted an amazing lineup with Barns Courtney leading off. Although Barns normally plays with a band he played an acoustic set which he later said he enjoyed because he was able to engage more with the crowd. The highlight of his set was when he played 99 a song that has appeared on alt 104.5 for years now. After his set he made sure to stick around and take a picture and talk to everyone who came over to the gate. After Barns’ set was Shaed an indie pop trip from DC. They played their new song everybody knows I’m high which really brought the house down. They really got the crowd into it when they played their all time hit of Trampoline which is another 104.5 go to song. After Shaed’s set was Philly legend and Mt. Joy frontman Matt Quinn. He connected well with the crowd explaining how he used to tailgate the Eagles games right across the street at Jetro lot and that was the inspiration for the next song he played; Cardinal. The highlight of his set was when he played “Astrovan” an original Mt. Joy song that everyone in Philadelphia should recognize. After Matt it was time for the Headliner you could look around the crowd and see The Maine t-shirts everywhere. Right from the start of the show the band brought incredible energy moving all over the stage and shaking their hair everywhere. The audience was dialed in the entire set dancing, singing along, and crowdsurfing. The highlight of the set was when the band played “Sticky” and the singer came into the crowd and sang it with all the fans surrounding him. They closed out their set with “Black Butterflies & Deja Vu” and everyone wished they could play more. It was another amazing Winter Jawn.
