SOMETHING CORPORATE

Something Corporate, The Stone Pony, Asbury Park, NJ. 8/23/24.

I’ve been looking forward to seeing Kaleo for a long time and with Chance Pena opening I knew I had to make it to the show. Something Corporate’s sold-out show at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, NJ was the ultimate way to kick off the end of summer. The night was absolutely stunning, with clear skies and a warm breeze coming from just a block away at the beach. As part of their 2024 "Out of Office Tour," the band's first official outing in 14 years, the excitement in the air was electric. Fans were treated to a nostalgic trip back to the early 2000s, with the band’s emo and pop-punk anthems filling the venue with energy. They launched the night with “I Woke Up in a Car,” instantly bringing the crowd to life. Lead vocalist and pianist Andrew McMahon, who’s also rocked it with his side project Jack’s Mannequin, and continues to captivate with Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, reminded everyone why his music still resonates. It was a night of great tunes, unforgettable moments, and pure summertime magic.
