SKEGSS

Skegss, Underground Arts, Philadelphia, PA. 3/19/25.

I’ve been a fan of Skegss for many years so I couldn’t wait to see them play at Underground Arts. I would always describe Skegss as chill Aussie surf rock but in the shows leading up to Philly I saw moshing and crowdsurfing on Instagram so I knew I was in for a wild experience. The opener for the show had a grungy punk sound and brought the energy getting everybody bouncing around early. When Skegss came out I was blown away by the interaction of the audience. From the very start of the show the mosh pits and crowd surfing began and beers were getting sprayed all over the venue. As the show went on the crowd surfers would come onto the stage stay for a little to pump everybody up and then sprint and jump back into the crowd. Even though you would think it couldn’t get more intense when the band would play one of their hits they would take it up a notch and mosh/surf even harder. A cool moment in the show was when the guitarist took a swig of water and ran from the back of the stage and sprayed it all over the audience. When the show came to an end the band thanked Philly for an incredible night saying how much they loved Philadelphia and then stayed and signed records and merch for the fans.
