LAST DINOSAURS

Last Dinosaurs, Union Transfer, Philadelphia, PA. 3/21/25.

It had been a year since Last Dinosaurs co-headlined a show with Vacations at Union Transfer and I was excited to see the band fully headline this show. There were two openers for the show, the first being Jasper Bones, a self-described Chicano Wavy-Soul artist. Although a very mellow set he sounded great and was the perfect way to start the night. The second opener was Tipling Rock, a surf rock band from Boston Massachusetts. They brought a really cool vibe to the Union Transfer and made a lot of new fans. The highlight in their set was when they broke into “Master of Puppets” by Metallica hitting some incredible guitar solos. When it was time for Last Dinosaurs to come on stage the neon sign lit up and they came running onto the stage. They led off with “Keys To Your Civic” a new song off the KYORYU album. The crowd exploded in cheer when they started playing “Andy” getting everyone to sing along. The set mixed songs from the new album as well as old hits giving Philly a little taste of everything. They made sure to give the crowd the big hits with “Sense”, “Eleven”, “Zoom”, and “Apollo” all deserving huge ovations each time one would start. After thanking Philly for an amazing night and walking off the fans were able to get them out to play one more so they played “Stream” which was sung by the bass player of the band.
