SAMIA
Samia at Asbury Lanes, Asbury Park, NJ. 4/23/23.
Samia is an incredible talent so if you see she’s playing a show around your area you go. The first opener for the show was Little Hag which was a local band from Asbury Park. She let the Samia crowd know she was going to be on her hometown sh** so they should be ready as she moved all over the stage. The second opener was Christian Lee Hutson who played a lone acoustic set that was very mellow and calming. He had very good stage banter and told multiple stories and really engaged the crowd by asking them question and letting them ask him things as well. When it was time for Samia she came out to “Kill Her Freak Out” which the crowd was shouting along as you could tell she had some diehard fans out in the crowd. She continued on mixing in her songs with a few she would announce to the crowd “okay, this is a dancey one”. She brought Christian Lee Hutson back on stage to sing “To Me It Was” and then really shocked the crowd by bringing her friend and actress/singer Maya Hawke out to sing her biggest song “Honey”. After playing her hit “Dream Song” she left the stage but came back out to encore and closed out with all her friends on stage singing “Show Up”.
