The Underground in Charlotte, NC, was transformed into a haven for soulful melodies and raw emotion as Rowan Drake took the stage to open for the X Ambassadors. With a voice that effortlessly navigated between hauntingly delicate and powerfully resonant, Drake captivated the audience from the first note. Throughout the performance, Drake's stage presence was full yet humble, engaging with the audience between songs and creating a sense of connection with the fans. He talked about how coming to Charlotte felt a little different than the other cities he’s sung at because the person who inspired most of his songs currently resided in the city. This revelation added a layer of intimacy and authenticity to the performance, making each song feel like a personal narrative shared with everyone present.
