NOFX, The Wizink Center, Madrid, Spain 5/14/24.
The Wizink Center in the heart of Madrid was a hotbed of punk glory on May 14 as long time punk stalwarts NOFX bid a fond, but bittersweet adios to Spanish fans on this, their final tour. The event was dubbed “40 Years, 40 Cities, 40 Songs” and NOFX brought along a supporting cast befitting of a storied career.
Fellow punk giants Circle Jerks, rocker Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, The Meffs and G.A.S. Drummers all delivered crowd-stirring performances complete with circle pits, stage dives (looking at you Frank Turner) and crowd surfers.
These are indeed the shows you live for as a concert photographer. The exhilaration of getting your framing, focus, settings, exposure all in line, juuuust in time to be kicked in the back of the head by a crowd surfer coming over the barricade is indeed unmatched.
