MISTERWIVES
Misterwives, Union Transfer, Philadelphia, PA. 11/1/24.
It had been 10 years since I’d last seen Misterwives and the last time they stole the show at the 104.5 birthday show that boasted a really great lineup. The first opener for the show was Moody Joody, an alternative band coming from Nashville. They were the perfect fit to play with Misterwives getting everybody dancing along early. The second opener for the show was Joan, a pop rock band that really increased the pace of the night. When it was time for Misterwives the members of the band came out first and then singer Mandy Lee came out to a huge ovation. The band led off with their song “Organized Chaos” which was the perfect way to describe it as Mandy Lee came out silhouetted in front of the red circle behind her and then came down running and jumping all over the stage. The band continued bouncing around throughout the entire night and you had to be amazed how they were able to keep energy up through the whole night. The highlight of the night was when they played a cover of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” which is a song Philly has taken as their own since it being the Phillies winning song. That led the band into one of the songs all time hits with “Superbloom” and then soon after they played their biggest hit of “Reflections”. After closing out their set with “Nosebleeds” the crowd was able to will them back out to play a few more and they officially closed out their night with “Our Own House”. It was an incredible night in Philadelphia.
