MAGIC CITY HIPPIES
Magic City Hippies: Brooklyn Bowl, Philadelphia, PA. 1/20/24.
Magic City Hippies are always a great time so I was excited to see that they were coming back to Philly. There were two openers for the show the first was Josh Fudge a 2 person alternative/indie band consisting of a singer/bass player and a drummer. The crowd really liked Josh and even got involved singing the chorus for one of his songs which made him announce that he loves Philadelphia. The next act was the Palms a super cool west coast Psychedelia band. They played a completely dark room giving the set a very moody feel. They definitely got themselves some new fans from their set. When it was time for Magic City Hippies they brought the energy right from the start. Band members were playing leaning up against each other and the trumpet player came out and played right into the crowd. After a few songs the singer disappeared into the dressing room and came back as a character in a suit and wig which the crowd found hilarious. Towards the end of an amazing set the guitarist crowd surfed with his guitar all the way through the Brooklyn Bowl crowd. It was an awesome night in Philly.
