LAMB OF GOD/PANTERA
Lamb of God/Pantera, CFG Bank Arena, Baltimore, MD. 2/24/24.
Two of the biggest metal bands in history sharing a stage was a can’t miss show. The show opened up with Snafu a Detroit based hardcore thrash punk band with a ton of energy and hair shaking. The lead singer had hair down to his ankles and was whipping it around for their entire set. The crowd was into what they were hearing and were head banging along. Before Lamb of God came out you could see people wearing their merchandise all in the pit section so you knew people were going to be ready for their set. When Lamb of God opener with “Memento Mori” the crowd instantly began crowdsurfing and that continued through their entire set. The highlight of their set was when their sing came Randy Blythe climbed up the drum riser and then did a huge jump off back down to the stage. They closed out their night with “Redneck” and asked who was ready to see Pantera to which the audience erupted. Before Pantera came out their legendary guitarist Zakk Wylde ran into the crowd and was taking selfies with a mask and action figure in his hands. Before the rest of the band came out they played a video on the Jumbotron’s of them throughout the years which got everybody jumping and down for the band to come out. When the Pantera curtain dropped the band started playing “A New Level” from the Vulgar Display of Power album. Pantera had an unmatched energy that even had every photographer in the pit bobbing up and down to the music. The highlight of their set was when they played “Walk” a crowd favorite. They closed out their set with “Cowboys From Hell” and thanked Baltimore and walked off the stage. The crowd was deafening trying to get the band to come back out for an encore. When the band came back out they brought up a fan from the crowd and closed out the night with “Fucking Hostile”. It was an amazing night in Baltimore.
