CHADWICK STOKES & THE PINTOS

Chadwick Stokes & The Pintos at World Cafe Live

Unfortunately, I became a State Radio fan after they broke up, but Chadwick Stokes' next project with the Pintos picked up right where they left off. Thursday's show in Philly started off with some acoustic guitar riffing, which went right into a State Radio favorite, "Keepsake".Through the set, the band played a mix of new songs and tracks from 2019's self titled album. But the stripped down nature of the Pintos' live setup is what really stood out. The instrumentation was comprised of a banjo, acoustic guitar, electric bass and a floor-tom-only drum kit. This allowed the group's four part harmonies to fill up the room & kept listeners hanging on every song.

Chadwick & co. has a diehard fanbase, many people were discussing how times they've seen them or gotten involved with his various service projects. Cheers would erupt at various points during the set - even when nothing exciting was happening.
