ILLITERATE LIGHT

Illiterate Light at Johnny Brenda’s.

Illiterate Light coming to Johnny Brenda’s got the people around Philadelphia’s attention and a good crowd turned out to the venue. Their opener Palmyra had a folk type feel and came from New Jersey so they had fans in the crowd there to see them as well. Everyone enjoyed the opening set it was the perfect band to ease the crowd into Illiterate Light’s heavy guitar style. Illiterate Light took the stage and rocked the crowd, with just two people they brought the noise. The drummer was one of the best drummers I have ever seen and he was all over the stage, and at one point he even climbed onto the speaker. The highlight of the set is when they brought a bicycle into the crowd and showed how you could power an entire set by using the energy from the bicycle. After having the drummer power an acoustic song for the singer they had members of the crowd power their next few songs. They came back on to play Vampire Blues which has intense instrumental rifts and really got the crowd into it. Another highlight of the set was when they performed their most popular song “Better Than I Used To”. It was a great show that everyone in attendance thoroughly enjoyed.
