RAYLAND BAXTER

Rayland Baxter at Ardmore Music Hall

WXPN Show at Noon: Were lucky enough to be able to shoot both of Rayland’s set in Philadelphia with his first one being the free show for WXPN. Rayland played 8 songs, some from his new album but mostly his older hits. The crowd favorite was when he played “Hey Larocco” and “Mr. Rodriguez”. The highlight of the show was when Rayland asked the crowd who was coming for the night show and when a man in the front row asked if there were still tickets he put the man on the guest list for the night right then and there. After that nice moment with a fan Rayland closed the set out with “Yellow Eyes” and everybody left the venue talking about how good Rayland was.

Second Show: We were excited for the night show because Rayland had Barney Cortez, a local Philly band opening for him. Early in his set Barney played his hit song “Shit River” and continued to have several incredible guitar solos throughout the show. After a great set it was time for Rayland to come on. He came out to his hit off his new album “If I Were a Butterfly”. He continued to play both hits off both his new album, and older albums. In the middle of his set he had the band leave the stage and played an acoustic version of “Olivia” and then brought up his girlfriend Sophia to sing “Goodfriend”. The highlight of the set was when he covered Mac Miller’s “Small Worlds” and the whole crowd was singing and dancing along. After an unbelievable set he closed again with fan favorite “Yellow Eyes”. The crowd begged and pleaded for Rayland to keep playing but he had to come off stage because of a local curfew but he kept yelling to the crowd he would if he could. Another amazing set at Ardmore Music Hall.
