GOTH BABE
Goth Babe: Franklin Music Hall, Philadelphia, PA. 7/10/23.
This was one of the most electric if not the most electric shows I’ve seen in my entire life. The show opened with Bay Ledges who couldn’t be a better opener for Goth Babe. The singer was all over the stage and at one point crawled onto the ground while singing. When Bay Ledges started playing “Straight Jacket” you could see several people turn to their friends and say “oh I know this song”. After getting the crowd warmed up with an amazing opening set it was time for Goth Babe to come out. With a long intro song they came out to an explosion of cheer. When they played “Weekend Friend” second everybody was dancing and jumping in the crowd. After the second song they had all of the photographers leave the pit because it was time for “the rafts” which is when they put a lucky fan into a raft and crowd surf them all over the venue, it was truly amazing. Another crowd surfing highlight was when the band pulled out a Danny Devito cutout since they were in Philadelphia and had the audience crowdsurf the cutout all over the venue too before asking the people in the balcony to throw it over the side so it could continue it’s crowdsurf. One of the most fun moments of the show is when they shouted someone out for their birthday and said we can either sing you happy birthday or do something more fun. When the crowd obviously chose something more fun they broke out into a heavy dubstep song and twerked on the stage. When the show was over the crowd literally didn’t want to leave so they played 2-3 DJ’d songs and just bounced people in the rafts while everyone jumped up and down. It was a night for the ages.
