CUT WORMS

Cut Worms, Johnny Brenda’s, Philadelphia, PA. 4/23/24.

In front of a sold out crowd, Cut Worms put on a captivating performance for Philly Americana music fans on Tuesday April 23rd, 2024. With supporting act Snoozer opening up the set, main Cut Worms member, Max Clarke, took the crowd on a journey through his catalogue. The band's most recent album, which was self titled, dropped in 2023. Playing some of the top hits from the album, including "Ballad of a Texas King" and "Don't Fade Out," the band also dove into tracks from their other two full lengths, Hollow Ground (2018) and Nobody Lives Here Anymore (2020). There was even a surprise cover song in the middle of the set, as the band got the crowd moving and singing along to "I Think We're Alone Now," originally performed by Tommy James and the Shondells.

Cut Worms was supported by multi-instrumentalist and touring musician, John Andrews, who played keyboard and has toured with the band when not out performing his own solo work or with other bands. The crowd at Johnny Brenda's was packed in, but still helping fill the space, with many singing along to Clarke's vocals. The band came out for an encore performance, playing "Veterans Day," off their 2020 album Nobody Lives Here Anymore
